Latest: Tropical storm Fay

hurricane_fayAccording the The National Hurricane centre, Tropical Storm Fay is moving across Haiti today (Saturday 16th August). The storm which formed on Friday over the Dominican Republic is the sixth of the 2008 season and has reportedly had winds of up to 45mph.
Forecasters believe that rain of up to 12 inches could be expected in some parts of Cuba; these could force floods and mudslides to form. It is also expected that tides would rise up to two feet above the normal levels.
According to the The Hurricane Centre, a tropical storm watch has been put on the entire coast of Haiti, and the northern coast of Dominican Republic, and there have also been warnings in Cuba.
Forecasts show the storm is due to hit the Florida Keys on Monday, it is however difficult to predict the exact path of the storm due to the erratic behaviour and nature of the bad weather.
All affected cruise lines will be constantly monitoring the storms patterns and forecasted events, and will take action if needed in order to protect passenger safety. Any minor adjustments to itineraries will always been notified to passengers onboard, passengers and crews safety will always be put first.
