Winds are expecting to reach 74 mph, which is classified as hurricane strength. With the tropical storm causing high tides and fast winds, cruise itineraries have been affected. The Norwegian Spirit has had its itinerary changed due to the U.S. coast guard closing Port Canaveral to ships today (Tuesday 19th). NCL say they are continually monitoring and will update customers as it is necessary.
Carnival Cruise Line has also reversed the itineraries on the Carnival Valor and the Carnival Inspiration, to ensure passenger safety. Alongside this they had to make changes to the routes of Carnival Fascination and the Carnival Triumph.
Royal Caribbean has adjusted the itineraries of Enchantment of the Seas, Sovereign of the Seas and Majesty of the Seas, in anticipation of the tropical storm.
The cruise lines are constantly monitoring the situation and will take affect as necessary in order to provide a safe environment for their crew and passengers,
