Sailing date: Feb 18th, 00:00
Cons: staid entertainment
This trip was organised wonderfully from start to finish by Ideal Crusing. We flew from our local airport and stayed overnight in New York we then transfered to the ship the following day. Ideal Crusing arranged all the transfers from the airport to the ship and back to the hotel/airport for our flight home, I would recommend anyone to do this as it would have been very expensive to arrange yourself. The Queen Mary 2 was a beautiful ship and nothing was too much trouble they catered for our every need even changing our dining table to a more central position. The food was of the best I have ever experienced having taken 17 cruises this is certainly very lavish. On arrival we had a welcoming bottle of bubbly in our room I was also sent Birthday cards for my special birthday (50th) although I did not tell them in advance they just picked it up from our documents. The buffet was always very varied and all the hot was piping hot, lots of free drinks available only had to pay for alcholic drinks. The only disappointment to us the entertainment but that is personal taste and harps, piano music every night was not my thing I would have like to hear some singers in some of the bars. The ship has a wonderful planatrium and indoor museum with lots of history about Royality and film stars that had travelled on the original ship. I think our favourite moment was the day we sailed out of St Kitt's and about 2000 cruiser's on the Oceana sang and waved us out of dock for about 45 mins what a send off and was appreciated by all on board well done Oceana you will probably be my next cruise. All in all a wonderful ship excellent staff and as my waistline is still telling me exceptional food. If you want luxury this is the trip to take. Thank you Ideal Cruising for all your help.
