Pros: Great cabins, nice ship
Cons: Age range of passengers

I visited the Island Star whilst she was in port in Palma.
My first impressions were that the Star is an attractive, good sized ship with plenty on offer to its guests.

Our tour began with the cabins. We looked at a cabin in each of the grades, from inside to grand suite, and i was really quite impressed. Although many of the cabins vary in layout and size, even the most basic cabins were pretty spacious. Disabled cabins were excellent, very large, with well adapted bathrooms too. The grand suite was fantastic - not because of the size, as it was fairly modest, but because of the incredible view! The suite is at the front of the ship and has a full view of the ocean . Another good cabin was the Island Suite - ideal for families of 3 as the room has a divider from the main bedroom with a sofa bed in the other area.

The Star had a few different dining options, buffet and then waiter service restaurants. However, I did think the supplements charged to dine in the formal restaurants was a little high. Drink prices were reasonable, and the cocktails were pretty good too!

The theatre was impressive, as it was quite big, but found the Bounty Club a little dull and disappointing.

The pool area looked great, lots of space and all looked very clean.

Overall, this is a great ship, best suited to families and young couples in school holiday times, but a higher age range out of these times - 55's+
