Independence of the Seas by Fimbles
Sailing date: Apr 27th, 00:00
Cons: Wasn't onboard long enough!
What a ship! I was lucky enough to be onboard overnight. We had an inside cabin on deck 7 which was very spacious with plenty of wardrobe space too. The bathroom was a good size. Cabins are very tastefully decorated in natural colours.
We soon made our way to deck 15 to visit the the Sky chapel, this was very pretty, simple and elegant. The light just poured in. Then on to Olive or twist bar for a quick refreshment. Deck 13 with the flow rider, basketball court, rock climbing wall and crazy golf. The children's area was amazing there is so much for them to do. Each area is set out well keeping the youngsters in there own areas. The arcade for the older children was unreal they had so many different games and activities going on.
The gym is very well equip with modern machines. The H2O zone was just fantastic. We then made our way to the Windjammer cafe, This is no cafe! Food was everywhere you looked the choice phenomenal I had to try a bit of everything and it was all so delicious! My favourite has to be the royal promenade with shops, bars, coffee shops, pizza place and Ben & Jerry's ice cream. The promenade was so lively and so much going on and the bridge that changed colour which i did have to walk over every time i went near it!
The on air club with the karaoke booths was great, we did sing a few songs in there for a while. We had a glass of Champagne in the Champagne lounge before getting dressed for dinner. We had the early dinning in Romeo & Juliet. The food was to die for. I had lobster bisque, roasted duck and grand mariner souffle. The waiters and staff where wonderful they couldn't do enough to help and to make sure we were happy with everything. We then went up to the sky bar for a few cocktails, before making our way down to the ice rink to watch a show, which was unreal so well choreographed the lighting, music and the skating. After the show we went on to the labyrinth night club for a dance.
Before bed we had a quick slice of pizza and then off to bed we went. The beds were so comfy we both drooped off to sleep in minutes. In the morning we had breakfast in the windjammer cafe, again the choice was fantastic. I found all the staff to be very friendly and polite. I would recommend this ship to anyone; young, old, families and singles. There is something for everyone, whatever your taste, they have thought of every thing! I have to say so far this is the best ship I have ever been on, I loved everything about it and can't wait to get back on board!
